The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island makes Steam debut this winter – Destructoid

The latest entry in the Shiren the Wanderer series made its way to Nintendo Switch in the west back in February. Now it has its eyes on a PC release, with Spike Chunsoft lining up a Steam launch for this winter.

When Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island first debuted on Switch, it brought some updated features along with it. In addition to some quality of life updates to exploration, the roguelike made it even easier to stream with an enhanced Live Display Mode.

All of the free feature updates will be available on the Steam version when it launches. Spike Chunsoft also plans to bring the Plus Pack — paid DLC that introduces 10 new dungeons and more — to Steam.

If the music of Shiren the Wanderer has you tapping your toes through each dungeon, the digital soundtrack is also coming to Steam soon. Spread across three discs, the soundtrack includes a whopping 109 tracks that span 330 minutes of jam time. The Serpentcoil Island soundtrack will also be available on iTunes, YouTube Music, and other platforms through noisycroak Records.

As for the aforementioned free update features, they include more dungeons and playable characters. You’ll be able to tackle the six new dungeons and the playable Kokatsu Shiren and Tatsumi Shiren from the start. If you’re a fan of roguelikes, there’s a lot to chew on in what serves as a pretty solid entry into the wider Shiren series.
