Black Ops 6 – Destructoid

The Marine SP is one of two shotguns available in your arsenal in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, and it packs a wallop if you know how to build it well. Thanks to its pump-action design, it has the power to stop just about anything up to medium range, but with the right attachments, this thing can become one of the best all-purpose weapons in the game.

Unlike the majority of weapons, the Marine SP is available to you right at the start using one of the default classes, but if you want to customize it properly, you’ll need to reach level 4 and unlock Custom Loadouts. The Marine SP is a starter gun, so that’s the only requirement. Now, let’s get to building it.

What is the best build for the Marine SP in Black Ops 6?

The Marine SP’s greatest weakness is its limited range, but this build will allow you to engage enemies even at medium range, thanks to its focus on increasing Damage Range and reducing Pellet Spread.

  • Optic: Accu-Spot Reflex
  • Muzzle: Modified Choke
  • Barrel: Reinforced Barrel
  • Stock: Balanced Stock
  • Laser: Target Laser

Starting with the Optic, the Accu-Spot Reflex offers a clean sight line with minimal obstruction while ADS (Aiming Down Sights). This is my go-to Optic for this reason, but feel free to interchange it with one of your preferences.

The Modified Choke is a mandatory attachment because it significantly reduces your Pellet Spread while you are ADS. It is the main attachment in this build that allows you to engage enemies at a distance. You will almost always be firing the Marine SP ADS with the build, so no other Muzzle is worth using.

On the contrary, the Reinforced Barrel is one of several viable options for this build, but I’ve found it performs best because it extends the Damage Range of the Marine SP the most. This allows your shots to deal as much damage as possible at greater ranges.

As for the Stock, the Balanced Stock offers a number of great benefits for this build, increasing your Movement Speed, Sprint to Fire times, and Strafing Speeds all at the same time. Sprint to Fire is especially important since you want to be able to engage from Sprint as quickly as possible when under fire.

Finally, the Target Laser is a mandatory attachment for the same reason as the Modified Choke. It further tightens the Pellet Spread of the Marine SP while you are ADS, giving you a much greater ability to engage enemies at longer distances. The only downside is that the laser itself is visible to your enemies while you are ADS. The laser is extremely easy to see, so be mindful of this when looking down your sights.

Best Equipment and Perks for the Marine SP in Black Ops 6

For this build, you want to focus the rest of your loadout on supporting the Marine SP’s close-to-mid-range engagement distance, while improving your ability to get closer to your enemy as quickly and safely as possible.

  • Tactical: Smoke Grenade
  • Lethal: Semtex or Impact Grenade
  • Field Upgrade: War Cry or Spring Mine
  • Perk 1: Ninja
  • Perk 2: Tracker
  • Perk 3: Double Time
  • Wildcard: Tactical Expert

Smoke Grenade combined with Tactical Expert allows you to obscure large portions of the battlefield in smog, allowing you to close distance and slip through deadly firing lines safely. Ninja conceals your footsteps so you are not easy to track as you close. Tracker helps you chase down foes. Double Time allows you to Tactical Sprint for much longer.

Using this combination of attachments, equipment, and perks, you’ll be able to use the Marine SP to devastate your enemies, whether they are in your face, or at a distance.
