Comedy adventure Thank Goodness You’re Here! gets Steam Deck verified just in time for launch – Destructoid
Thank Goodness You’re Here!, a game which feels like someone took a snapshot of a North Yorkshire town in the mid ’70s and somehow turned it into a full-blown quest filled adventure, has gained Steam Deck verification just one day ahead of its release date.
Coal Supper, the development team behind the bizarre yet incredibly enjoyable romp through a small British town, revealed on Twitter that the former Steam Next Fest featured game is now completely verified for Steam Deck just in time for its release on August 1.
In case you have no idea what I’m talking about, here’s the trailer:
In Thank Goodness You’re Here!, you’re sent into the fictional town of Barnsworth for a meeting with the Mayor, but things go horribly wrong right from the beginning of your journey. From taking a dive out of the window, or shrinking down in size and floating around in a pint, or using a large amount of butter to help someone get their arm out of a drain cover, there’s a lot of chaos and a lot of fun to be had.
With Matt Berry providing his very recognizable voice for multiple roles and some lovely photographs from a bygone era of British history as pause menus, Thank Goodness You’re Here! is full of puzzles to solve and good times to be had.
Thank Goodness You’re Here! shares its publisher with another delightfully bizarre game which you may have heard of – Untitled Goose Game – so if you’ve ever taken a jaunt around town as a thieving goose, you’ll likely know exactly what to expect from Thank Goodness You’re Here!.
Thank Goodness You’re Here! will also be releasing on PlayStation and Nintendo Switch on August 1, so if anything, the game is more portable than not at this point. Like Untitled Goose Game, if you’re planning to play Thank Goodness You’re Here! on PC, you’ll need to do so with a controller.
